Possibilities for American expat women who want to go home to give birth?
Hi Everyone,
I am an American living in South Korea with my Korean husband. We are thinking about possibly starting a family in 2-3 years, though certainly not immediately.
For a few different reasons, I would really prefer not to give birth in Korea. However, I am not finding much information on what it takes financially and logistically to go back to the U.S. to give birth.
Has any American here gone home to have a baby? Did you find some way to arrange health insurance to cover the end of your pregnancy and delivery? Or did you pay for it out of pocket? I feel like I can't be the only person who has wanted to do this, but I'm finding very little specific information.
