Software Developer deciding where to move to

I am an American, living in the American midwest. I am not married and I do not have any children. I am about to start a career as a junior software developer, but I have lived my entire life in the Mid-west and I wan't to first move to the most exotic place that I am legally allowed to live and work at my career.

What is the most exotic place that I can move to, where I am allowed to start a career as a software developer?

Requirements:

Be allowed to start a career as an on-site software developer, meaning I actually work on-site, not remotely.

I would prefer a modern place so that I can receive a decent salary, not some 2nd or 3rd world country.

Belize? France? Virgin Islands? Belgium? Netherlands?

Many of the places that I have looked only allow foreigners to work if they are sponsored by a company. I suppose I could just move somewhere and then look for a job and explain that they have to sponsor me.
