Another American wanting out. I’ve had enough and I don’t want my family around so much hate.

We are a family of four: myself, a male 34y/o high school teacher; my wife, 32 y/o social worker, and our two children 7 & 4.

We aren’t sure where to go to have good careers that we have worked so hard to get in America. I love teaching and my wife loves her work with foster families.

We were thinking Europe but none of us have ever been overseas so we have no idea where to start.

If you have some knowledge or a recommendation, please let me know.

How about the Cayman Islands? I lived there for several years before moving to US. Expensive but as a teacher, you’d get a break on the school fees.

If you wish to limit some language barriers, consider those countries where English is widely spoken: The Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Those countries could also need social workers (for your wife).
The same countries are not cheap, so are suggested if you will earn enough to live decently.
Write down your priorities and start giving them points. Four of you means FOUR priorities, and one of those should concern your children, because if they don't adjust well to the new environment...get ready for disasters.
Some example of priorities?
Language, weather, health coverage, costs of living (mainly the house) and earnings, friendliness of locals etc.
Write the lists independently; any of the four writes down its list, and only at the end compare which priorities match. You will be surprised of the results.
Considering the age of the kids, this move could be the last one, because when they start to settle down and have local friends it is not a good idea to unroot then again [judgement based on my opinion and experience].
Good luck.
