Hey guys, my girlfriend and I are moving to New Zealand in a few months and we are not sure where to live or do while there! I'm 22 from Wales and a qualified carpenter and my girlfriend is 24 and a qualified fashion designer who also works in hospitality. is there anyone out there with any tips regarding work and places to live?
also i may add i am a very keen golfer and would love to live close to a golf course :)
Thanks in advance
Luke

Hi Luke,
When are you arriving in NZ? I will have my house insulated by a carpenter from mid Jan to beg March, and he might need a hand, so you could stay at my place for free. It's a room in a three bedroom house. Have a look at the place: www.bo3seas.co.nz
The location is stunning and very close to the golf course at the airport.
If you already have a job you could also rent the room temporarily until you find your own place. I'm always happy to help with settling in.
For your girl friend, there is a cafe down at the beach, walking distance from my place, that is always looking for people. It's probably the best cafe in NZ, and we locals love it.
Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Hi Luke,
When are you arriving in NZ? I have the place with the potentially best view in NZ and close to the golf club at the airport. For your girl-friend, there is a cafe down at the beach that is always looking for staff. It's our local's favourite and maybe the best cafe in NZ.

I have a carpenter at the place from mid Jan to beg March and though you might like to give him a hand and stay for free? That would potentially help you settle in, I'm always happy to help new arrivals to Wellington.
If it's late this year, it might still be an option (at flatmate rate) until you find your own place.
It's a 3 bedroom house, and you would have a room and share the rest.
Looking forward to your ideas.

Hi, Silke
Thanks for the reply, we will be landing sometime in August. So i am assuming the work on your house would be complete by then.
Where is your place located so my girlfriend and I can check out the area?
Thank you so much for your hospitality.

NZ has the most golf course per capita in the world.
There are 2 New Zealands. Auckalnd and the rest of the country. Auckland is much like most of other major cities in the world.
To work you will need a work visa unless doing temp work like picking apples.
Cheers Cliff
