30/F/Islamabad - Looking for expat friends

I moved back to Pakistan after living abroad my whole life. I basically grew up in Nigeria and then did my undergrad and masters degrees in the US (TX and ND respectively). All my life I have had so many international friends. But it is really difficult to meet any foreigners in Islamabad. Y'all keep to the diplomatic enclave and don't mingle with the rest of us much. Sometimes I see you at Kohsar Market or at the mall but I'm a bit too shy to approach anyone that way.

Anyway I'm hoping I can meet someone through this forum. Whether you are passing through Islamabad or live here, I want to know you. Particularly if you are American! I don't miss living in America much but I really miss Americans.

Here is my linkedin so you know I'm a real person https://www.linkedin.com/in/shumila-ahmad-04173a4a

Weird aside: if you want to adopt kittens or know of anyone who wants to adopt kittens let me know. I have this "hobby" of rescuing dying animals from the streets, paying exorbitant amounts of money to the vet in order to make them healthy, and then giving them up for adoption. Currently my house is overrun with eight cats and three of them need homes.

Hi Shumila, I read your message and I would be very interested to hear more about your cats interest. I am not American, but new in Pakistan and would love to connect and meet like minded people. I love cats personally, all animals in general, but cats get my special attention. I have experience in adopting stray cats which were very successful. Although I had a plan to get a Persian cat this time, but I can change that.
Please get in touch if you want to connect. I visited your linkedin profile but it did not allow me to send you a private message, my membership on linkedin is basic, I think that's the reason. Look forward hearing from you.
Regards,
Nada

Hi Nada. I am glad you are one of those people interested in stray cats. I'm finding that Pakistanis have this weird obsession with purebred animals and it's really difficult to make them adopt strays.

You can contact me via email at [email protected]. This is also my facebook email address so you can message me there as well. Then I can share some kitten pictures with you.

Cheers.
