What are the options for following the NFL in the Philippines?
I will be staying at an upscale hotel in Clark for a month in October. They may have options, but where else might I look for live coverage?

I've been watching NFL games at Phillie's Bar and Restaurant on Fields Ave. lately. I have NFL Gamepass to watch live on my laptop as well.

therealmilkman: Do you know how they get NFL games at the bar you referred to?

Jimmyzr1

I’ve boycotted watching the nfl, and it’s, disrectful players since the kapernick incident and don’t plan on watching again. Put the nfl, “not for long” out of business. I’m a vereran and their attitude pisses me off!

I really don't know what kind of subscription they have but the picture is great. There's a bunch of TVs there and you can request a certain game. Usually the marquee games are on a huge screen in the middle of the bar.

therealmilkman: If you don't mind asking next time, I am very curious. If you ask, would you please post here and let us know.

The Swagman Hotel has a big screen TV and I have watched NFL games there.

If you have internet you can watch them on http://gofirstrow.eu/ Just do not "X" out of anything (the X will link you to betting or another site) and wait for the "full screen icon to appear and click that.

I'm a Nam era veteran and I support the players kneeling and do so myself at events where the anthem is played. Here is why I do so and I'm white by the way. https://www.facebook.com/TYTBreakdown/videos/448274665649976/

I think using sports to bring attention to whatever your protesting is not appropriate. It could have been done on any talk show in America. It has caused so many problems for the innocent person who just wants to enjoy watching whatever sport he likes. For me, kneeling during the national anthem does nothing but disrespect the flag and country that it represents. It does nothing positive for the younger generation who honors the flag in school every morning or anyone who salutes the American Flag. There are other ways to go about the issue that they are apparently protesting.

standupguy?
This forum is for expats interested in the Philippines. It allows expatriates to interact with each other. Have you ever read the member agreement? It does not state anything about what can and cannot be written whether it be political or religious as long as it "does not hinder community development". "We believe that freedom of speech on the internet" is important." It's obvious your anti American attitude. Although this is an International forum open to everyone it is founded and based out of America! Are you the new Moderator?

If you want to talk about America go on to the American forum there are different countries listed it’s nothing to do with being anti American this is the Philippine forum so he has a point

standupguy
  9/16/2018 17:39 EST

ACEPoolPlayer Quite the contrary. I know you like to make me out as anti-American which I am most certainly not. I am an American. Yet when you discussion moves the topic of where to watch NFL games in the Philippines to political statements about your pro- Trump, anti- African American bias, I don’t consider that about the Philippines, and inviting a political debate about American politics. Discuss all the politics you want about the Philippines. Or go to ExpatExchange America. I am on E patExchange Canada for that purpose. Many members have posted that they have grown weary of politics about the US and Canada being posted. Please respect their wishes. Maybe Peacemaker007 can shed some light on this. Is this a forum for American political debates or not?

Anyone remember a boxer called Muhammad Ali (Cassius Clay) or a very old picture of two Olympic runners with fists pointed in the air, heads bowed, a couple decades ago?

wmg2

Standupguy, I agree that some got off the topic of where to watch NFL games while in the Philippines, but how in the world do you come up with alleging ACEPoolPlayer being Pro-Trump and anti-black from his post? Are you having delusions? And more importantly, what are your motives for doing so? Just curious.

BTW, I access the games with the NFL GamePass yearly subscription. No problems to date and all games are recorded in case one doesn't want to stay up late or get up in early morning to watch them "live".

standupguy
  9/16/2018 21:20 EST

wmg2. “anti-American”, “you just hang out with Leroy Brown”, “draft dogger” (actually never called, after the lottery system ended War over), These are not “delusions”. They are APP quotations. APP guarantees to oppose any thing I say. Making remarks about me “hanging out in girly bars”. Are you an American? Anti-American = Anti Trump, get it?. I resent your insulting me that I am delusional. Just keep the discussion about the Philippines and stop with the personal attacks against me. Salamat

wmg2: You said you have NFL pass. I have a few questions about it. I hope you can answer. 1. How much does it costs. 2. Do you need a VPN and if so what VPN do you use and how much does it cost? 3. What connection do you need? If you don't know what is needed, what is your internet speed? Thanks

dodger501
  9/17/2018 05:27 EST

I have NFL GamePass, it works fine. I can Chromecast it from my phone to the TV. GamePass is for use outside of the U.S. and Canada so you don't want to use VPN. I paid $99 for the whole season but I only get 1 team. You can get more if you pay more.

P.S. US Navy, Vietnam, combat veteran. The people in the admin and Congress conspiring with foreign entities to subvert our elections and sanctions get me a lot more worked up than football players kneeling.

dodger501. - I with you on that account. African Americans tired of eating sh#t endlessly.

gelynch52ph
  9/17/2018 08:53 EST

Let me just say that going on talk shows has about as much impact as eating a bowl of cereal. NFL players are using the only forum they have available to protest mistreatment by police. That runs rampant in America and simply must be addressed. I kneel now when attending contests where the anthem is played. Quite Frankly, the anthem is only appropriate at international events and never should have been added to NFL games in the first place. I served in the military to protect the rights of everyone to not have to make public displays of patriotism. That right was consecrated by a Supreme Court decision in 1947 and only under tRump has it become an issue. What needs to be said to tRump is, "You're fired!"

Trump is a reprieve from Hillary's plan of "Martial Law", which NSA and CIA are hiding. Despite Trump, America is moving towards a conflict.

How hard is it for you guys to stay on topic? This topic had nothing to do with Trump, Freedom of speach which by the way I support so don't send hate mail. This guy just wants to watch some NFL football and asked where he can do that? If you want to talk about all that other crap start a new topic that deals with that stuff and have at each other all day long 24/7. Thanks for letting me vent.

tlallen59 Depersonalization is the prerequisite in America. Too much media about the new Cultural Icon of the American super warriors saving the world. Thomas Jefferson’s principles just a shadow. Constancy no longer part of morality, chaos and class polarization took that place. Feelings about saving the environment, EARTH? Go figure. Down to basics, money and power. Nothing else matters. Once a great nation. Now, everything bi-partisan. Liberalism is evil. Fundamentalist church and zenophobic patriotism a reflection of the narcissism of the evil genius leader. Right wing blindness piloting the ship of state. I have different American stripes and I am not alone. However bad the evil genius is, he produces a golden nugget sometimes.

surfingcebu

Stand up ~ interesting thoughts as always . The comment about Liberalism is evil was interesting . Hmm I postulate why it is perceived as evil by some , is that there is no true Liberalism anymore. Just a shadow in our history books now , taught by ideologues, barely qualified to teach very basic concept at play, or not at all. Liberalism is about power, holding on to it and the status quoe, taking down anyone who gets in their way. Both have merged into one really. Democratic ideals are painted as truths, but not followed. Your Right, money and power is the core content and domain of it all. To say they, as the Liberals profess, represent the little guy is indeed “deep belly laughter” . True conservatism has been lost for generations too, to be fair. It’s a house of cards at this point in the west Standup... as you astutely know. Getting frightful here in the west.

To be honest I am sick and tired of all the political talk in this forum, someone asks for information and it turns into slagging match between different political beliefs. I am interested in the Philippines being as it's my home all this arguing and temperature about politics is becoming very boring to put it mildly. If you have something political to say why not start a new thread, so those of us who are not interested in American politics can bypass it.
I am sure those that are asking for advice, must get totally peed off when the discussion turns to politics. Please guys give us a break
