Second go for me so what follows is current. If you sponsored your Asawa for a Permanent Resident Visa in your Country, it’s a lot quicker & cheaper for your Asawa to sponsor you at your RP Embassy or Consulate. Otherwise you start by getting your National Bureau of Investigation clearance with 4 2X2 photos one month prior to submission of 3 legal file folders with fasteners using legal size paper containing your Asawa’s sponsorship letter Notarized, your BI application (pick up 3 copies at BI when you get your NBI clearance. You have to have 2 reccomendations from Filipino friends or neighborhors listed on the reverse side of your BI application. Your 3 file folders must contain (after your application) a copy of your NSO or other marriage license, your Asawa’s birth certificate, a copy of your bio page of your Passport and your most recent entry, a copy of your ACR card (if you entered with your Asawa and are on a one year Balikbyan Visa, just put your status as Tourist)) and a copy of your Asawa’s bio page of her RP Passport. You will be charged 12,000 php & that includes your new ACR card. They asked me back the next day for my hearing. I had to bring 4 copies of my approved application and 4 copies of your approved BU application, & your Notarized sponsorship letter, 4copies of the two receipts you received upon applying, 6 2X2 photos. You will be finger printed twice. You will receive your approved probationary certificate of permanent residency. Your ACR permanent residency card will take 2-3 months. You must report in Jan. -Feb. or immediately upon your return to RP, you must pay the AirPort tax upon leaving ( my mistake). After 10 months, you must reapply with a notarized co-habitation letter, new NBI clearance, applications, photos, Notarized sponsorship letter and pay again, then if all goes well your probation is over and you will get a new ACR card good for life. If you do it at the RP consulate or Embassy you get it all at once .
