The Heat?

Coming from California where in the summers are about 90 to 108 degrees its dry not humid but it gets freaking hot.

We get little rain where im from, if we get 5 inches a year that's average.

How do most Californians adapt to the RP weather.

Thanks

We got about 10 inches a year where I was in California.

My body melted when I got to the Philippines, but now after 6 years, My body has adapted.

I don't have aircon. but some days I go to a mall to cool off a bit. I sleep all night with the fan on or I'd wake up soaking the mattress.

I've planted some fast growing trees and grape vines to shade the home I'm renting and that makes a big difference too.

Rickster: I am from California (Silicon Valley area). Maybe it is cooler there than where you are in California, but l still gets pretty hot. I live in Baguio now. It is too hot for me in most places in PI. Actually, even Baguio gets a little to hot for me sometimes. The humidity makes a huge difference.

I'm from Los Angeles, Ca. Yes it was brutal heat & humidity when I first arrived in PI. And that was in January 2014. After about 5 yrs, my body has acclimatized... a lil bit. There are ways to cool down here. The simplest one is to take cold showers 3x a day. Or drape a wet washcloth around your neck. You need to buy a fan too. Of course there's the air condition (AC) room(s) in homes too w/c is the best way to cool off; but may cost you in electricity bill. T shirt, cargo shorts, and a pair of flip flops are the normal get up here all year round. Light weight rain parka for the wet season is also recommended.

Rickster1000,

It’s a lot like Orlando, FL, so if you have been to Disney World, that’s how the Philippine weather feels like. As far as temps, the California desert is worse. In the Palm Springs area, summer high temp in the shade is about 115 ?F and can get as high as 130?F.
