Howdy all.
Hopefully some of you have had some personal experience with buying new Fords over here. Some people say that the parts cost more for the Fords than the Japanese brands and also take longer to get. Can anyone comment on the personal experience with this issue?

I have no idea :)
but a thing to think of when deciding which BRAND of (new) car to buy in Phils is they have very high "punnishment" custom fees at "luxury products" which they count cars to.
But it's exception, not high, for cars which are ASSEMBLED in Phils* as e g Mitsubishi has to avoid that..

*Or more corect within ASEAN 7 countries. They have trade agreement between themselves.

In September 2018, I bought a Mitsubishi, but I am not brand conscious.

I had a local Philippino negotiate the deal for the car and when it was ready to be signed, I appeared.

The skin tax is expensive.

Toyota is the biggest seller in Philippines, dealers are plentiful, mechanics trained by Toyota more common.
Plus Toyota are extremely reliable. You can buy Chevrolet, built in Thailand but not good build quality at all. I have always stuck with Toyota. Owned a Toyota vios, Fortuner, and Innova all excellent and reliable.

"Toyota is the biggest seller in Philippines"
Including the "Owner jeeps" ? (=body made in Phils, put very OLD mostly but not allways Toyota engines and transmision.)

If without the "Owners" - Are they biger than Suzuki Multicab/ Minivan/ Halfcar...? Beloved kids have many names :)
(Assembled in Phils too, but from Japaneese surplus, including the body.)
