Visa at airport?

New Topic Newest First

Can anyone tell me if they are granting 30 day entry visas at the airport now? I have a flight into NAIA on the 5th of May . From what I can see on BI site, it looks okay.

The question of is it safe is a different one

NextStage I don’t think the 30 day visa on arrival is available during the enhanced quarantine which may continue past April 30. No Visa’s are being renewed for those who are expiring now since BI is closed. Penalties will apply. However for those who got stuck here and their visa expired, and they have an outbound ticket, they can renew their visa without penalties. Arrivals might also face a 14 day quarantine period. Check with your airline.

I haven't followed the news proper recently,
but isn't the BORDERS CLOSED (for normal travellers)
and isn't that FLIGHT CANCELED as all seem to be for other flight company for whole May? (They didn't say "Canceled" but odd marks saying everything had been sold out.)

The only flight I have heared of recently is a very expensive ONE to Canada for Canadians wanting to get home.

Goslig - I was lucky got two tickets on ANA for 913 on Friday the 24th - there were only a few economy seats like that.
The Canadian Embassy along with PAL ( whats new?) are hosing people with 2,700.00 tickets to repatriate ! Rip Off ! Nice of the Canadian Government to d0 such huh ?

How could a Canadian Government use PAL (known for its corruption!!) at such a high price When its military at home do NOTHING , and 70 + Long Range jets sit idle on Canadian airport ramps ?

Canadian Government leaves it citizens twisting in wind !

Surf !

Goslig - that was 913/ ticket ...plus 58 service fuel charge . I feel lucky compared to the sumps who paid 2500+ on the Canada repatriation flights

Gos, I don't know anything special handling on visa they are doing because of the covid19. But the BI office in Davao city at the Victoria plaza still opens during weekday daytime. I myself did a visa extension there on March 27. Did a Google search on bi office in Davao city, which indicate they will be open tomorrow at 8am. Salute!

southbayfrank That’s interesting. I got my information from a news report a week or so ago, after March 27. I will look at it again. I have a Permanent Resident Visa now so I am not affected. Let me follow up!

Press Release March 26, 2020:
“ It can be recalled that the BI issued an earlier advisory suspending several transactions in Luzon, including tourist visa extensions except for foreign nationals intending to depart the country. In said directive, aliens whose visas will expire during the ECQ may file for extension after the quarantine period sans penalties.”.

Looks like it only applies in Luzon the hardest hit area.

Gos, you are overwhelming me with travel information. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I'm going to duck in Davao city for 1-2 more Months just to be safe. Airline ticket is prohibitively expensive now. I am a stingy cheap guy. Will wait and see if I can enjoy more. The last two months were mostly stuck in place, hardly any fun.

southbayfrank I’m of the same mind. Looking at tickets to Vancouver in early September, Tuesday to the next weeks’ Thursday with PAL are less than half the price as a Monday to Wednesday for a 10 day stay in the same weeks. I use Skyscanner.

Thank you all very much. All I can add is there were 9 flights into and out of NAIA yesterday per their FB page.

It is possible the flights in were empty and only taking passengers out. Seems unlikely to me. But I did read the link provided and it is clear.

Will keep waiting to see my girl.
