Teaching/working

Hi
I'm looking for some advice.
I am 55 women and really want to come to Sri Lanka and live/work. I am presently in Newilla and will be going down to Galle in the next few days as I think this is where I would like to go.
I am a teacher, however I will do any work as long as I can cover my living expenses.
Does anyone have any advice or is there someone I can go and see whilst in Galle?

Thanks all

It might help you to firstly make sure you have working visa. If not, you really cannot work in SL.

There is a facebook forum called Living in Galle area which has a lot of good info by expats living in Galle. Please look through it an see if it helps you.

Best regards.
Naila

If you are still in country and hold a teaching degree then suggest you visit some of the international schools. If they offer you a possible job, get a letter from them and go to immigration and ask for a change of visa. It may be possible to get an Education Visa for one year( renewable) if you actually have a job offer on a school letter head.
Teachers don't make much money here,

Hi Beachwalker.
Thanks so much for the advice. I am actually back in the UK now but will certainly look into contacting schools from here.
