Hi, I am coming to Phuket this May to marry my Thai wife. So many conflicting ideas of what to do. I will have my tourist visa before I come and need to know what type of visa to apply for before 60 days are up.

Hi ! Tourist Visa is ok. You have 2 months, but you can extend 1 month (1900 bahts) at the immigration office. Then at the end of those 3 months, you just have to leave the country... for example you fly to Vientiane/Kuala Lumpur, and you make a new visa... 2+1 ...

Here it is: you already have 6 months to do all the paperwork for your permanent visa once married :D
