I am considering a move and have read so many mixed messages. Do expats like living there? Is it safe? Is there much discrimination? Is it very expensive?

K,

Your questions are very vague to elicit informed responses.

Assuming that your accommodation is being paid for by your employer and you are just required to handle the monthly bills an average of 3-5K USD should be more than sufficient depending on your lifestyle needs.

As a general rule /mth:
Electricity > 60
Groceries>750
Entertainment>200
Fuel>150
Gym>75
Fine Restaurant/ Dining>300
Cable/Internet>75
Mobile>75

So total should be around 1,685.

Hope this helps.
