Hello everybody,
I am new here and would appreciate information about dental care in Turkey. Has anyone here had dental implants done in Turkey, and how did it go? A dentist has been recommended to me in Izmir, but in case his schedule is too busy, I want to shop around. Thanks for your suggestions! Also, I am thinking of renting an apt if i decide to get treatment in Izmir, and wonder what part of town or what nearby town would be safe - yet also international! As a single woman travller, i should probavbly look for an area where there are other expats.Would it be too far to commute to Bodrum? or to Kusadasi?? Sunny 11

Hi Sunny, yes i have implant work done in turkey and it was great ,i could eat solid food after implant work was done. here in Michigan my dentist quoted $12.000 for 3 implants and they charged me $2.500 i am very happy i went to turkey for that. my dental work was done in Antalya (academicdent.com) check their page. well if you are going to live in izmir comuting to Kusadasi or Bodrum is nort a wisw idea because ou are looking at 2 hours each way. If you are planing to live in Kusadasi i own a beachfront condo fully furnished you could rent that, interested? let me know. take care now Hal.

Hi Hal,
Thanks for your helpful reply!
Your place in Kusadasi sounds tempting, especailly since I will need oral surgery and will plan to stay in turkey for 6 weeks or more. What are you asking for November? Are there other interested parties so we could share rent?I f I can afford it I would be glad to rent an apt for 2 months this winter.Sunny11

Hey Suny, thanks for writing, yes you can rent the apartment for 2 months. i know it is may be too much room for one person, but i dont have any other person to share with you, i will ask $1.500 for two months since it is slow season,if you like the price i will arrange the renting with my realestate agent. so please write me what do you think. take care Hal.

Hi Hal,
Thanks, your offer sounds generous. May I please get back in touch after the dentist has quoted me a price for the operation? There may be quite a lot of oral surgery necessary, I gotta wait for the dentist's opinion. I may want to rent your place for one month only just so that, during the dental work, I will be comfortable.Would this also be an option? An advantage of renting your place would be that I could go ahead and send some books and clothes to your place, right? Is ther a janitor or neighbor who looks after the place? My Dad is in Florida maybe he can help me send money to your bank.Anyway I am definitely interested.Sunny 11

Hey Sunny, yes i guess you could rent the place, becouse i am here in U S in winter you have to get in touch with the real estate for arrangments. that is www.turkeyexpert.com, contact name will be Christine. i will also suggest after checking the prices for your teeth in izmir you should also check the prices in Antalya academicdental.com it could be cheaper and you could check into a all inclusive hotel in or around Antalya for real cheap prices. last time i stayed there for awhole week eveything included we paid $ 350.00 for whole week. this way you dont have to wory about where to eat what to eat.for that check the HOTELS 4 U.COM you will see what i mean. take care Hal.

Hi,

Kusadasi is not next door to Izmir. It is another town not too far though.

I have a Turkish-American friend living in Alacati (Cesme) now. I can ask him if he rents you a room.

How long are you going to stay in Izmir? Any special needs you have? Vegeterias or so? (He is not) Do you smoke?

If you consider having treatment in Adana, we can give you room and there is a dental specialist here had many American patients before. We have many Americans in adana, too.

Best.

Al

Greetings Al!

Your help is really appreciated!
I am taking a note of the option you are mentioning.Adana might be a good location from what you say. However i must wait for the dentist's opinion re how my teeth can be fixed. While getting the treatment itself I would prefer having some room or flat of my own in case i have to take pain medication. But before or after the treatment when I am recuperating maybe a room in Adana would be nice.I will keep you updated! Have a great day! Sunny11

No prblem at all...

You can stay with us and get rested till it is all over.

Dentists here would do it inexpensively to advertise their services they said to me before.

Hello, I know your message is old but I wanted to recommend a dentist in Istanbul, Dogudent (http://www.dogudent.com.tr/)

I went there last week. He speaks great english. I am American and the clinic and equipment reminded me of home.

The website shows some info about implants as well. Best of luck to you.
