Graham crackers?

I've been wanting to make a cheese cake with sour cream topping and graham cracker crust. While we haven't found sour cream for sale, we can make it. We have not been able to find Graham crackers. Does anyone know where we can buy them?

I use the tubs of queso crema - I usually buy the one with the red lid by Talar - it is a little less sour than sour cream but very similar to me.

There are a number of plain cookies that you can crush up to make a Graham cracker substitute -such as https://www.tiendainglesa.com.uy/Galleta_El_Trigal_de_miel_200g.producto?27

Graham crackers are not available here. Check the FB expat page for posts on the subject. That would be something to bring back with you on your next trip to California.

La Nueva Barcelonesa makes excellent ricotta cheesecakes in a few different varieties: Chocolate, apple, pineapple, & plain. Check them out the next time you're in MVD. It won't be the cheesecake you're familiar with but might still satisfy the craving.

Thanks for the responses. I will try the substitute cookies to make a crust. Most deserts in Uy (or anywhere for that matter, are way too sweet for our palette. We customarily start a recipe by cutting the sugar in half and are usually satisfied. At least the graham crackers brought back in a suitcase may not require further crushing to make pie crust!

I use a good substitute for cheesecake crust. It's easy and has very little sugar. Scottish Shortbread doubles as a pie crust. In fact, I use it for any pie I make as my standard pastry crust is better utilized as a good rigid cardboard product.

Scottish shortbread is an excellent suggestion akin to my heritage. I had never thought of that and with some whole grain in the mix, may be superior to graham crackers. I realize this is a rather banal post subject, and appreciate the latitude.
