Does anyone know a good place to stay near the Peñas Blancas border crossing preferably on the Nicaragua side?

On the Costa Rica side, my wife and I spent a night at Finca Canas Castilla, about half way between the border and La Cruz. We were picking our daughter up at the border the following morning, and this was a nice place to stay with a short drive to the border. It is a little bit off the main road, so having a car would be desirable. We arrived mid-afternoon so that we could enjoy the area some.

I have a hostel on the Ocean Front in Playa Remanso Nicaragua. I have a residentcy now and haven't run the border in a while but I don't recall any lodging south of SJdS or south of the Virgin. La Cruz on the CR side has a lot of lodging. There is a town on the lake named Cardenas that I have visited but don't know about any lodging there. SJdS is full of empty hotels and lots of good restaurants ??
