Hi all, My wife and I have hit that middle-aged point in life, after lockdown in London. where we want an adventure. We have been dreaming about a move to the Caribbean for years, and have now decided to make the dream a reality. The plan is to rent out our London home and use that income plus a bit more to rent in 2 or 3 locations over the next two years, to find somewhere we feel is perfect. starting in St Lucia. My question is will my wife be allowed to work remotely for a UK firm, paid into a UK bank account? If so, will she be liable to St Lucian taxes? Thanks.

As far as i understand , you cannot be taxed on monies you earn outside St L , and those monies are paid into a UK based bank. No Worries Good luck, St L is a wonderful place to be

Hi Steve, WOW ! Do it is all I can say. That said you will have to be prepared to go back in TIME !!!! 30 to 50 years.
The Tax situation: Leave your taxation in the UK ( I have). Banking: You will be better off keeping your UK bank accounts, but you will need a St Lucian bank. Working Remotely : Not so sure about this, you are not permitted to work in St Lucia, but remotely may be different????
We moved here in Feb last year and have not looked back YET. Not all pain sailing, we learn every day. If you require any information feel free to message, I might even give you my email later..............

Hi . You will not be working in StL that means working for a Co. based in StL You will be a visitor and can work online for whoever you want as long as its not a St L co. Your income will be in pounds and earned off shore. Try the Scotia bank, you can fill in forms on line and they will tell you what you need to open an account.. Have you been to StL before?? Most expats are in Rodney Bay area. If your looking to rent , try Blue Reef estate reality, they are very helpful. Good luck. Rob

Hi. As youve stayed in the Bay, you'll realise that all you need is very close by, having your own transport is nice, but very expensive in St L and being in the bay you can probably do without or hire a taxi for shopping etc. Trust all goes well for u both , Rob
