My wife and I are U.S. citizens who live in Alaska. We cannot live in the USA any more if Donald Trump is re-elected. We have been to Australia twice, and New Zealand once. We love it in that part of the world. If the worst case scenario happens in November of 2024 and POS Trump is re-elected to be POTUS, then we no longer want to live in the US among people who think that POS is the person to be commander in chief. We will need a new start in a country we already have spent time in, respect the leadership, and most importantly, respect and enjoy the culture and attitudes of the people there. We are hopeful AU will extend our current valid visas indefinitely.

My wife and I are seriously contemplating moving our family to Australia from the US in an attempt to provide our three kids with a better life. We are tired of the constant conflict here and the inability to go anywhere without the threat of gun violence taking one of our kids be it at school or simply grocery shopping. I am finishing my BSN and my wife is completing her Masters in counseling currently. She has a friend that owns a practice in Melbourne and has essentially offered my wife a job so that has narrowed our search within the country.

Good morning , Its great to hear you are taking the plunge and joining your family in Perth. We are also thinking of doing the exact same in the next 2-3 years time. Have you already applied for a Visa and which one have you applied for ? We have looked into moving over and so far we have seen that it will cost us around £50K to qualify for a family Visa, So its a lot of money even before buying a house. It also takes around 3-5 years to get one.
Regards Phil

We are coming from Dorsat in UK - relocationg to Perth WA to be with our younger daughter and her family. We are pensioners. We would love to hear about the areas around Southern river where she is. We would love to hear from anyone with info regarding the cost of living - renting a house - social activities, we both love fishing! - how the climate effects outdoor activities...... we have so many questions but these are the ones that spring to mind first!! Thanks

I'm an active single male in my later years with no family ties. I have led an extremely full life in the US both professionally and personally. I am a runner/fitness enthusiast seeking a warm climate that offers both outdoor and cultural enjoyment opportunities. I lived in Chicago most of my adult life and have resided in Phoenix, AZ the last 7 years. I originally left Chicago but circumstances brought me back to the US, which was Phoenix.

Hello,
My wife and I currently reside in Tucson, Arizona. We've traveled all over the country and dipped our toes in a few other countries. However, we are now seriously considering leaving the United States sometime within the next year. We hope to join the expat community in one of the cities in Australia. We've never done anything like this before and were hoping to find a community where we could get answers to our many questions and guidance on how to do this.
Thank you in advance!
