My family and I are contemplating relocating to Belize. We prefer Montessori school for our 5 year old son . Any thoughts about Belize Montessori School? I have not been able to find any contact information for the school, so I am wondering if it is still operational. Other than QSI, what other school options have parents who want their children to have a well-rounded education considered in Belmopan?

Hello, we are also planning to move to Belmopan, and I am also interested in the Belize Montessori School. Did you end up going there? What was your experience? Thank you so much!

I do not know any info on the Montessori School in Belize City and weather they have Montessori trained staff. There is a Montessori Preschool in Placencia Belize, called Peninsula Art Company Child Care, the staff has over 40 years experience in early childhood development and were trained at Montessori Education Center of the Rockies in Colorado. They are a family run business, and everyone who attends has nothing but glowing reviews

I do not have young kids so may not be ideal poster for this. In Belize the regular starting age for school is rising 5, so any preschool Montesorri of not would be for a very short term. The christian Academy takes children form 5 and has a good reputation. it is just off the western highway. I don't know if that is of any help. There used to be an international school in Teakettle (I think) but that closed about 2 years ago.

Hey Bobby, You are a ray of sunshine! I didn't post to advertise, but try to be of assistance - I actually offer scholarship for free, so I'm not making any money. I'm an educator and know that it is challenging to find local people with training. Just trying to help. You can work on your messaging to get the point across without being rude. I totally get the rules to not advertise and will take down my post. Hope we don't cross paths! Disappearing!

I don't know about the schools there, but I am offering Montessori training for teachers. If you find a school that would like to send their teachers, send them our way! ([email protected]). We offer affordable training to teachers living and working in Central America. Sarah Hassebroek Director, MITT (Montessori International Teacher Training)
