Condo for rental income

We are thinking to buy a relatively inexpensive 2 bedroom condo near beaches and walkable distances to everything in Tamarindo. Dual purpose but more for rental income/investment than personal use We have a realtor with great credibility who was recommended to us by trusted friend and don’t DO NOT want a feeding frenzy of recommendations etc. I am curious if others have bought sight unseen and would they do it again and what were unforeseen challenges.

Ditto what others have said. It is only a 5 hour flight here (or only 3 if you live in Tampa/Miami) and Southwest has tickets as cheap (under $300 one way from Phoenix) here now.....Miami much cheaper.

Having worked globally in real estate, it IS possible and some people HAVE purchased without being there physically. I agree that it is worth the cost of a plane ticket to come and view the property. If you are unable to do this, then recommend you have someone walk you through the property with a video call - and then walk the area so you have a clear understanding. Some properties are amazing abodes but it is not always about the house - but where it is located, what other influences are around it, noise, smell, access, etc... Food for thought and best wishes.

I sold a property to a buyer who had not seen it in person, this was at least 15 years ago.
They were happy with the purchase.
