A few questions

Housing - When the time comes to move, I will be heading to India with about $250k to "set up shop". I love crowds and don't mind dust or noise. I am looking at New Delhi and will be looking for something along the lines of a smallish 1-2 BHK with "balcony" and roof access. I tend to lean toward individual residences and have no problem living "outside the wall". I have been looking over many single home ads online and see a large number of "fixer uppers" and that is kind of what I do when I purchase a home. What is the availability of building/repair materials? Is there anything like a Home Depot or Lowe's there? Just curious so I can start getting my "10 year plan" outlined.

Volunteer Work - Are there a lot of NGOs in New Delhi? As I plan on this move occurring after retirement, so to keep my mind and time active I was considering the possibility of spending a fed days a week volunteering. I am also presently an Industrial Maintenance Tech with extensive knowledge in factory systems and certifications in welding and was wondering if they are things like vocational schools that I could volunteer time to?

Budgeting - I am seeing multiple people talking about cooks, cleaners, gardeners, etc and for the most part it sounds like one can have all of the above for under a few hundred $s a month? Is this true? The plan is to purchase a modest house outright and then use pension and investments for day to day living. Those will come to about $2500 a month and was wondering how that will fare in the economy and allow for travel.

Thank you for any feedback or info you can provide!
