Does anyone have a comment regarding living in the countryside in England, Scotland, France, or Ireland? I'm looking for a simple, quiet life with perhaps a few close neighbors. These areas represent my ancestry (probably in that order). I'm in good health, single, and grew up on a small farm. I visited the English countryside about 20 years ago and really enjoyed it. Aside from the current events that are shaping our lives, what is the long term prognosis for living in places like these?

Hi, if you are looking for quiet, rural areas of England to possibly live, then you could look at the villages in the Yorkshire Dales, or the north Yorkshire Moors. These are beautiful areas, but quite quiet.
