Summary: The quality of medical care in Ghana is generally considered to be lower than in the United States. Emergency services are available, but they are often limited in terms of resources and personnel. To call for an ambulance, one can dial the emergency number 112 or contact the nearest hospital.
How are healthcare services Ghana?
When we asked expats and global nomads about the quality of medical care in Ghana, they replied:
"Healthcare services in Ghana are provided by both public and private institutions. The public healthcare system is funded by the government and is available to all citizens of Ghana. The quality of public healthcare varies depending on the region, but generally it is considered to be of a good standard. Foreign residents are able to access the public healthcare system, however, they may be required to pay a fee. Expats in Ghana typically use the private healthcare system, which is more expensive but offers a higher quality of care," said one expat.
