Foreign residents in Mongolia have access to the public healthcare system, although they may need to pay for some services. Expats in Mongolia typically use the public healthcare system for basic medical needs, such as vaccinations and check-ups, but may opt for private healthcare for more specialized treatments," mentioned one expat in Mongolia.

"Emergency services in Mongolia are provided by the Mongolian National Emergency Management Agency (MNEMA). In the event of an emergency, the public can call the MNEMA hotline at 103 to request an ambulance. The MNEMA hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The ambulance service is free of charge and is staffed by trained medical personnel. In addition to the ambulance service, the MNEMA also provides firefighting, search and rescue, and disaster relief services," commented one expat living in Mongolia.

The government has implemented a number of measures to protect the population, including the introduction of a nationwide lockdown, the closure of schools and universities, and the suspension of international flights. Despite these measures, the healthcare system has been strained due to the influx of patients with COVID-19. Hospitals have been overwhelmed with patients, leading to long wait times and a shortage of medical supplies. The government has also implemented a number of measures to support the healthcare system, including providing additional funding and resources to hospitals and clinics. Despite these efforts, the healthcare system is still struggling to cope with the pandemic," wrote one expat.
