Summary: People describe life in Malta as sunny, relaxed, and friendly. Expats love the Mediterranean climate, the beautiful beaches, the vibrant nightlife, and the low cost of living. The average cost of living for an expat is around $1,500 per month, depending on lifestyle. Malta has a population of approximately 475,000 people, and the largest cities are Valletta, Birkirkara, and Qormi. The cons of living in Malta include the limited job opportunities, the lack of public transportation, and the high cost of housing. Additionally, the language barrier can be a challenge for some expats.

What are the pros and cons of living in Malta?

Expats, digital nomads and retirees living in Malta responded:

"Expats and digital nomads often appreciate the warm climate and relaxed lifestyle that Malta has to offer. The country is also known for its low cost of living, making it an attractive destination for those looking to stretch their budget. Additionally, the country is known for its rich cultural heritage, with a variety of historical sites and attractions to explore. On the downside, some expats and digital nomads may find the island to be quite small and lacking in diversity, with limited opportunities for outdoor activities. Additionally, the language barrier can be a challenge for those who don't speak Maltese," explained one expat in Malta.
