What do I need to know before moving to Cabo San Lucas?

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Cabo San Lucas, they said:

"It is important to consider your method of travel before relocating to Cabo San Lucas as there are limited flights to and from the city. The area is also vulnerable to hurricanes and tropical storms, so researching seasonal weather patterns is recommended. The tap water is not considered safe to drink in Cabo San Lucas, so expats should be sure to purchase bottled water or invest in a water purification system for drinking and cooking. Additionally, the area is far from major cities, so it is important to research the availability of essential items like household goods, food and healthcare. It is also important to note that taxi and Uber services are limited in Cabo San Lucas, so good conversational Spanish is recommended for navigating the city. Lastly, it is essential to have proof of residency and obtain the necessary visa paperwork before relocating to Mexico," remarked one expat who made the move to Cabo San Lucas.
