Expats should also be aware that the city is very crowded and traffic can be chaotic. It is important to be aware of the local customs and etiquette, as well as the language, as English is not widely spoken. Expats should also be aware of the cost of living in Kathmandu, as it is generally higher than in other parts of Nepal. Finally, expats should be aware of the visa requirements for Nepal, as they can vary depending on the purpose of the visit," remarked one expat in Kathmandu, Nepal.
