Groceries and other everyday items are also quite expensive, but there are some discounts available for students. Transportation costs are relatively low, with monthly passes for public transportation costing around €50. Overall, the cost of living in Heidelberg is higher than in many other cities in Germany," wrote a person living in Heidelberg.
