Summary: The cost of living in Guayaquil, Ecuador is generally considered to be quite affordable. A nice one bedroom apartment in the city can cost anywhere from $400 to $600 per month, while a nice two bedroom apartment can cost from $600 to $800 per month. The cost of dinner at a moderately priced restaurant in Guayaquil is usually around $10 to $15 per person.

"The cost of living in Guayaquil is generally considered to be lower than other more developed cities. Groceries, housing and entertainment expenses tend to be among the most affordable in the region. Public transportation in the city is also quite reasonable, as are medical costs and other miscellaneous services. While prices may be slightly higher in more touristic areas, generally Guayaquil offers an excellent value in regards to cost of living," explained one expat.
