What advice do you have for expats having a baby in Arabian Ranches?
We asked expat moms who gave birth in Arabian Ranches about their experiences and advice they have for other moms to be. They said...
"Firstly, it's important to understand the healthcare system in the UAE. The country has a high standard of healthcare and many doctors and nurses speak English. However, it's advisable to have a comprehensive health insurance plan that covers maternity costs, as these can be high. Secondly, you should familiarize yourself with the local customs and laws. In the UAE, it's illegal to have a baby out of wedlock, so ensure you're legally married before the baby is born. Thirdly, consider hiring a doula or midwife to assist with the birth and postnatal care. They can provide valuable support and advice, especially if you're far from your home country and family. Fourthly, start looking for a pediatrician early. Many expats recommend finding a doctor who is familiar with your home country's vaccination schedule. Fifthly, if you're planning to work after the baby is born, start researching childcare options early. There are many nurseries and daycare centers in Arabian Ranches, but they can fill up quickly. Lastly, take advantage of the expat community. There are many support groups and social networks for expat parents in the UAE, which can be a valuable source of advice and friendship," explained one expat living in Arabian Ranches, the UAE.
