What advice do you have for expats having a baby in Quebec City?
We asked expat moms who gave birth in Quebec City about their experiences and advice they have for other moms to be. They said...
"When having a baby in Quebec City, it is important to register the birth with Quebec’s Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) within 45 days of the baby’s birth. This is important since it ensures that the baby can benefit from health and social services and will be eligible for benefits such as the Quebec Parent Leave Program. Additionally, it is important to obtain a health card for both the baby and the parents and ensure that they receive regular checkups throughout the baby’s development. Lastly, it is important to take note of the many programs and services available to parents, such as the EDDDE program, which is a daycare program for 0-5 year olds available to both Canadian citizens and expats," said a member in Quebec City, Canada.
