"It is important to familiarise yourself with the healthcare system in Macao, to gain a better understanding of the availability of services, as well as the local maternity protocols. It is important to plan ahead, speaking to doctors and other health care professionals in advance to ensure you are well prepared. Additionally, it is essential to ensure that you are familiar with the labour laws in Macao so that you know what type of maternity benefits you are entitled to. Furthermore, enlisting the help of a doula or maternity nurse can be a great asset to ensure a smooth pregnancy journey. Lastly, do not forget to take the time to relax during your pregnancy and make an effort to enjoy the experience," said another expat in Macao, China, China.
