What advice do you have for expats having a baby in Puerto Vallarta?
We asked expat moms who gave birth in Puerto Vallarta about their experiences and advice they have for other moms to be. They said...
"It is important to research and understand the medical care and resources available to families expecting a baby in Puerto Vallarta. It is always helpful to have information from both healthcare professionals as well as other parents who have gone through the process before. Make sure to bring all of your medical records, as well as any necessary vaccinations for the baby, to Puerto Vallarta before the birth. Additionally, if you plan to deliver at a private hospital, be sure to ask about the fees and other associated costs in advance. Lastly, it is wise to learn some basic Spanish, even if you are not fluent, as it will make it easier to communicate with medical personnel, who may not all speak English," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
