What advice do you have for expats having a baby in Utrecht?

Answer this Question

We asked expat moms who gave birth in Utrecht about their experiences and advice they have for other moms to be. They said...

"1. Make sure to research the healthcare system in the Netherlands and the options available to you for prenatal care and delivery. 2. Consider joining a local expat group or forum to connect with other expats who have had babies in the Netherlands and can provide advice and support. 3. Look into the different types of childcare available in Utrecht, such as daycare centers, nannies, and au pairs. 4. Familiarize yourself with the Dutch language and culture, as this will make the transition to parenthood in the Netherlands much smoother. 5. Take advantage of the many family-friendly activities and attractions in Utrecht, such as parks, museums, and playgrounds. 6. Make sure to take time for yourself and your partner to relax and enjoy the experience of becoming parents in a new country," remarked another expat who made the move to Utrecht, The Netherlands.
