"In Ampang, you should avoid pointing with your index finger, as it is considered rude; instead, use your thumb with your fingers folded. Do not touch someone's head, as it is considered the most sacred part of the body. Be respectful of the Muslim culture by dressing modestly, especially when visiting religious sites. Avoid public displays of affection, as they are frowned upon. Do not interrupt or walk in front of someone who is praying. Be mindful of the local customs during the holy month of Ramadan, such as not eating or drinking in public during daylight hours. Always remove your shoes before entering someone's home or a place of worship. When giving or receiving something, use your right hand or both hands, as the left hand is considered unclean. Finally, be patient and avoid showing anger or frustration, as maintaining harmony is important in Malaysian culture," explained one expat living in Ampang, Malaysia.
