"One of the most challenging aspects of the local culture for expats in Hamburg is the language barrier. Although many people in Hamburg speak English, the majority of the population speaks German, and it can be difficult for expats to communicate with locals without a good grasp of the language. Additionally, Hamburg has a strong sense of regional identity, and many locals may be wary of outsiders. Expats may find it difficult to integrate into the local culture and make friends. Finally, Hamburg is known for its rainy and cold weather, which can be a challenge for those who are used to warmer climates," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Hamburg, Germany.

"Rigid social fences, lack of ambition among working class, rigid respect of rules that drives to lack of proactivity and creative thinking," commented one expat who made the move to Hamburg, Germany.
