What do expats find most challenging?

Answer this Question

We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Montego Bay. They wrote...

"Expats in Montego Bay often find the local culture to be quite different from what they are used to. The language barrier can be a challenge, as English is not the primary language spoken in Jamaica. Additionally, the local customs and traditions can be difficult to understand and navigate. Expats may also find the pace of life to be slower than what they are used to, as well as the lack of reliable public transportation. Finally, the cost of living in Montego Bay can be higher than in other parts of Jamaica, making it difficult for expats to adjust to the local economy," explained one expat living in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
