"One of the most challenging aspects of retiring in Boquete is the language barrier. Although many people in Boquete speak English, Spanish is the primary language and it can be difficult to communicate with locals if you don't speak the language. Additionally, the cost of living in Boquete is higher than in other parts of Panama, making it difficult to stretch a retirement budget. Finally, the climate in Boquete can be unpredictable, with frequent rain and occasional flooding, making it difficult to plan outdoor activities," wrote a member who made the move to Boquete, Panama.
