There are plenty of cultural attractions such as archaeological ruins, cenotes and the interactive Xcaret eco-park, museums, art galleries and cultural events. Playa del Carmen has numerous beaches and a lively beach-front promenade with plenty of restaurants and stylish bars to choose from. There are also plenty of recreation spots for retirees looking for some leisure, including golf courses, spas, and plenty of local cafes, shops and boutiques. Nightlife is rich and varied, from music venues offering live acts from local performers to pubs, craft and cocktail bars and nightclubs.
