Will I save money living in Coimbra?

Answer this Question

We asked expats if they save money living in Coimbra. They said...

"Yes, you are likely to save money living in Coimbra compared to the United States. The cost of living in Portugal is generally lower than in the United States. This includes expenses such as rent, groceries, dining out, and transportation. Healthcare is also significantly cheaper in Portugal. However, salaries in Portugal are also generally lower than in the U.S., so this is something to consider if you plan on working while living there. Despite this, many expats find that the lower cost of living balances out the lower wages. Additionally, the quality of life in Portugal is considered to be high, with a good climate, rich culture and history, and a high level of safety," said another expat in Coimbra, Portugal.
