"Healthcare services in Pai, are relatively basic, with a small government-run hospital providing essential medical care to locals and tourists. The hospital is staffed with doctors and nurses, but the facilities and equipment may not be as advanced as those in larger cities. For minor ailments and injuries, there are a few pharmacies and clinics in the town where you can get over-the-counter medications and basic treatments. However, for more serious medical conditions or emergencies, it is recommended to travel to the nearest city, Chiang Mai, which has better-equipped hospitals and a wider range of medical services. It is also essential for visitors to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical evacuation, as the remote location of Pai may require air transportation for severe cases," explained one expat living in Thailand.
