What are healthcare services like in Managua?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Managua. They wrote...

"Healthcare services in Managua are generally limited and of low quality. The public health system is underfunded and understaffed, and many of the hospitals and clinics lack basic medical supplies and equipment. Private healthcare is available, but it is expensive and often out of reach for many Nicaraguans. Access to healthcare is further limited by the fact that many rural areas lack access to medical facilities. Despite these challenges, there are some initiatives in place to improve healthcare services in Managua, such as the establishment of community health centers and the introduction of mobile health clinics," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Managua, Nicaragua.
