What are healthcare services like in Abha?
We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Abha. They wrote...
"Healthcare services in Abha are generally of high quality, with a number of public and private hospitals and clinics available for residents and visitors. The city is home to the Asir Central Hospital, which is one of the largest and most advanced medical facilities in the region. The healthcare system in Abha is well-equipped with modern medical technologies and staffed by highly trained medical professionals, many of whom have been educated and trained abroad. Services range from primary care to specialized treatments, including cardiology, orthopedics, and neurology. Emergency services are also readily available. The Saudi government provides free healthcare services to its citizens, while expatriates typically have health insurance provided by their employers. Despite the high standard of care, there can be long waiting times for certain procedures and treatments. Language can also be a barrier, as not all healthcare professionals are fluent in English," remarked another expat who made the move to Abha, Saudi Arabia.
