Is there a lot of crime in New Providence?

Answer this Question

We asked people if there is a lot of crime. They answered...

"New Providence does not have a higher crime rate than other cities of its size. However, crime does occur there, particularly in the areas with higher percentages of poverty and problems of social and economic inequality," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to New Providence, Bahamas.

"Yes, unfortunately the crime rate is fairly high. The Murder rate is extremely high for the population. Most of the crime happens in the sketchy areas and is drug or gang related so does not affect us directly. However be careful with your money in town as robberies are fairly common for those who do not take precautions," commented one expat who made the move to New Providence, Bahamas.
