"Yes, there is a significant amount of crime in Guatemala City. The city has a high rate of violent crime, including homicides, robberies, and kidnappings. Drug trafficking and gang activity are also prevalent in the city. In addition, there is a high rate of petty crime, such as pickpocketing and purse snatching. The government has taken steps to address the crime problem, but it remains a major concern for residents and visitors alike," commented one expat who made the move to Guatemala City, Guatemala.
