Is there a lot of crime in Guanajuato?

Answer this Question

We asked people if there is a lot of crime. They answered...

"Guanajuato has seen an increase in drug-related violence in recent years, with the escalation of gang wars and the presence of organized crime groups. Crimes such as home invasions, car theft and extortion have become more common. Nevertheless, the state of Guanajuato is still relatively safe compared with other Mexican states. Mexico has taken measures to tackle the crime issue, such as increasing the number of police officers patrolling the streets," explained one expat living in Guanajuato, Mexico.
