"When moving to Phuket, there are a few things to consider. You should research housing options, visas and permanent residence, costs of living, local transportation, medical care and insurance, education, culture and language, and potential job opportunities. Additionally, you should be aware that many areas of Phuket are prone to flooding during rainy season, so check with local authorities on flooding risk in the area where you plan to live. Finally, make sure that you register with the local police and the provincial Migration Office within 24 hours of your arrival in Phuket," commented one expat who made the move to Phuket, Thailand.

"Don't start long term. Do short term places and check things out. Make friends, be brave. Thai's are generally VERY helpful. I was made part of the family quickly," remarked another expat in Phuket, Thailand.
