Where should I setup a bank account in Dhahran?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Dhahran what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...

"Expats considering retiring in Dhahran should be aware that the city is a closed military base and is only accessible to those with a valid work permit or residency visa. Additionally, the city is subject to the laws and customs of Saudi Arabia, which may be different from those of the expat's home country. Expats should also be aware that the city is a dry city, meaning that the sale and consumption of alcohol is prohibited. Furthermore, expats should be aware that the city is a conservative one, and that they should dress and behave appropriately in public. Finally, expats should be aware that the city is a very hot and humid place, and that they should take precautions to protect themselves from the heat," remarked another expat who made the move to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
