How are healthcare services in Abidjan?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats and global nomads about the quality of medical care in Abidjan, they replied...

"Healthcare services in Abidjan, are a mix of public and private facilities, with the public sector being the primary provider of healthcare. The city has several hospitals, clinics, and medical centers that offer a range of services, including general medicine, surgery, maternity care, and emergency services. However, the public healthcare system faces challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, limited resources, and a shortage of qualified medical professionals. As a result, many residents opt for private healthcare facilities, which tend to offer better quality services but at a higher cost. Additionally, there are numerous pharmacies throughout the city where residents can access medications and basic medical supplies. Despite these challenges, the government is working to improve healthcare services in Abidjan by investing in infrastructure, training medical professionals, and expanding access to essential healthcare services," remarked another expat in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
