What are emergency services like in Panajachel?

Answer this Question

When we asked members about emergency services in Panajachel, they wrote...

"Emergency services in Panajachel, are available but may not be as advanced or efficient as those in more developed countries. The local fire department, known as Bomberos Voluntarios, often provides ambulance services. To call for an ambulance, you can dial the emergency number for the fire department or contact a local hospital or clinic to request assistance. Keep in mind that response times may be slower, and the level of care provided might not be up to the standards you are used to in your home country. It is essential to have a basic understanding of Spanish or have someone who can translate, as English-speaking operators may not always be available," explained one expat living in Panajachel, Guatemala.
